Operational Brief
Jelly Merge is a one-thumb physics puzzler in the Suika lineage: aim along the top of the jar
and drop jellies in. When two of the same kind touch, they merge into the next size up — chain
the cascades for score, but don't let the jar overflow past the line.
Built in-house on HTML5 Canvas with the lightweight Matter.js physics engine,
rendered with custom sprites and tuned for a smooth 60 FPS on phones.
Features
- Real 2D rigid-body physics (Matter.js)
- Six jelly tiers — balls, King, and the apex Super
- One-thumb control — aim, auto-drop, or tap to quick-drop
- Weighted-random incoming jellies with a NEXT preview for planning
- Adaptive drops biased away from the tiers exposed on top — and rock blockers that won't merge
- Three-of-a-kind TRIPLE bonus — cluster three to jump-promote and score big
- Endless loop — merge two Supers for a star, and the game speeds up
- Progressive difficulty: faster drops and bigger variety as you climb
- Local best-score chase · responsive from phone portrait to widescreen
Mechanics
- Aim along the top; the loaded jelly auto-drops, or tap/click for an instant quick-drop
- Two equal jellies collide → they merge into the next tier at the contact point (+score)
- Three of a kind touching → TRIPLE bonus: a jump-promotion two tiers up, plus extra points
- Cascade up six tiers: balls → King → Super (King + King makes a Super)
- Two Supers touch → both vanish for a bonus and a ★, and the pace ramps up — an endless loop
- Incoming jellies are biased away from the tiers exposed on top, so clearing the surface takes planning
- Rock blockers occasionally drop — they never merge, but a merge right beside one cracks it apart
- If a jelly rests above the jar's top line for 2 seconds — game over
